Fried White Marrow Recipe

Ingredients :

2-3 cups

1/2 cup

1/2 cup

1 teaspoon

1 clove

1/2 teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon

1/2 cup

Sliced marrow

Chick pea flour

Self-raising flour

Salt

Garlic, crushed

Finely grated fresh ginger

Ground turmeric

Water

Oil for deep frying

Method :
  • Peel the marrow and remove seeds.

  • Cut into slices about the thickness of a finger.

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan or wok and when a faint haze begins to rise, dip marrow slices in batter and drip, one at a time, into the oil.

  • Do not try to fry more than 8 pieces at a time.

  • When the batter is golden, remove from the oil.

  • Drain on absorbent paper and serve immediately.

Note : Served as a between-meal snack or as part of a meal, this is a favorite way of preparing vegetables.
