Asian Home Recipe

Green Masala Paste Recipe

Ingredients :

1 teaspoon

5 large cloves

2 tablespoons

1 cup

1 cup

1/2 cup

3 teaspoons

2 teaspoons

1/2 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

1/2 cup

1/4 cup

Fenugreek seeds

Garlic

Finely chopped fresh ginger

Firmly packed fresh mint leaves

Firmly packed fresh coriander leaves

Vinegar

Salt

Ground turmeric

Ground cloves

Ground cardamom

Vegetable oil

Sesame oil

Method :
  • Put fenugreek seeds in water to soak overnight.

  • They will swell and develop a jelly-like coating.

  • Measure 1 teaspoon of soaked seeds and put into container of electric blender with garlic, ginger, mint, coriander and vinegar.

  • Blend on high speed until very smooth.

  • Mix in salt and ground spices.

  • heat oils until very hot, add blended mixture, bring to boil, turn off heat.

  • Cool and bottle.

  • oil should cover the top of the herbs.

  • If there is not quite enough oil, heat a little more and add it to the bottle.
